Pipeline Network Integrity Verification

Long-distance pipelines cross diverse terrain, including unstable slopes, floodplains, agricultural areas and settlement zones. Ground movement along a pipeline corridor can potentially affect buried infrastructure long before visible surface damage becomes apparent.

Monitoring an extensive network using field surveys alone can be challenging and resource-intensive.

Our Approach

InSpectiv Labs applies satellite InSAR across the pipeline corridor to establish a regional ground-motion baseline and identify areas exhibiting persistent or changing deformation.

The analysis can highlight:

  • Ground settlement along the pipeline corridor
  • Slope movement affecting pipeline sections
  • Subsidence and uplift zones
  • Deformation near crossings and facilities
  • Changes in previously stable areas

Potential hotspots are then ranked for further engineering investigation and targeted field verification.

Outcome

Pipeline operators receive a corridor-wide view of ground behaviour, allowing inspection resources to be directed towards sections showing measurable changes rather than relying solely on periodic inspection cycles.
